Born in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Roger D. Green received his elementary and secondary education in Miamisburg, Ohio. Dr. Green was saved at a very young age, and as a young man, surrendered to the call of God into the Gospel ministry.
He attended the Cincinnati Baptist Bible Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio and was ordained into the ministry on May 31, 1969. He received his Bachelor of Bible Theology from the International Bible Institute and Seminary in Orlando, Florida, an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Marietta Bible College in Marietta, Ohio, an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida, as well as an Honorary Doctor of Humanities from the Fundamental Baptist College for Asians in the Philippines. Dr. Green was recognized and honored in the 1989 edition of “Who’s Who in American Christian Leadership” and was listed as an “Honored Professional” in the year 2000 National Registration of “Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.” He has been privileged to speak extensively throughout the United States, as well as internationally, with his main thrust being on “The Home” and “Missions.” Dr. Green is President of the Independent Baptist Missions to the Asians, serves on the Advisory Board of Baptist Missions to Forgotten Peoples, is the Baptist Bible Fellowship Field Representative to France, and is also on the Advisory Board of Mount Abarim Baptist Evangelistic Association, Inc.
After having served for 7½ years as Assistant Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Germantown, Ohio, under the leadership of Dr. C. Marvin Brads, Dr. Green was called to pastor the Green Meadow Bible Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He pastored there for two years and saw that church grow fruitfully under his ministry. In 1979, he was called to pastor the Sandusky Baptist Temple in Sandusky, Ohio, where he served for over ten years, and God wrought a truly great work to His glory.
In March, 1990, Dr. Green was called as Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church of Middletown, Ohio. Believing it to be the will of God, he accepted the pastorate of Grace, and believes its greatest days are ahead. Under his leadership, the church has grown, and its mission endeavors have doubled. Recently, Dr. Green earned his Master of Ministry from Marietta Bible College.
On May 5, 2013, Dr. Roger Green retired from a 23-year pastorate at the Grace Baptist Church of Middletown, Ohio. He currently serves as staff evangelist. He holds meetings such as: missions conferences, family retreats, revival services, and many more. Pastor and Mrs. Green, the former Brenda Gwinn, have five sons and 19 grandchildren.
